Structures

The Quarterly Training Dates for the remainder of the year are below. Mark your calendars now.   

2nd quarter       May 14 – May 19
3rd quarter       Sept 24 – Sept 29
4th quarter        Nov. 26 - Dec. 1

ALL members must attend at least 50% of the MD-TF1 discipline specific quarterly training opportunities. Failure to maintain 50% attendance at quarterly training will result in a recommendation of separation from the team.

MD-TF1 has tentatively agreed to host full Rescue Technician certification courses as identified below. Contact Captain Bentley if you have any questions.

Rescue Technician - Confined Space: Apr 16, 17, & 18

Rescue Technician – Trench:  May 21, 22 & 23   

June 30, 2012 is the absolute last day for Rescue Specialists that have failed to achieve certification to the Technician Level in Trench, Con Space and/or Rope to provide documentation of certification. On July 1, those still deficient will be asked to resign immediately. There will be no extensions or exceptions.

ANNUAL RECERTIFICATION

Annual Recertification is due NLT Saturday March 3, 2012. The link for the 2012 Annual Recertification is below. Failure to complete recertification by March 3rd will result in non-deployment status. MD-TF1 members that have failed to recertify by April 1, 2012 will be recommended for separation from the National Response Team.

UNIFORMS

There has been a poor return of the uniform survey to date. The surveys done during training have also been slow coming in. Those that did complete the survey will be rewarded with a first come, first serve appointment to get their uniforms evaluated and missing gear issued. The uniform survey link is below, please complete if you haven’t already.

Congratulations to Chris Hinkle on his assignment to the PSTA. I want to thank Chris for handling uniforms over the last year.

RJ Evans will be tasked to handle uniforms. RJ will begin contacting those that submitted surveys to schedule an appointment for gear inspection and uniform issue. RJ can be reached at 301-840-2448. MEMBERSHIP

Congratulations to the personnel below for being accepted to probationary membership. All will serve a 12 month probationary period. All are assigned to the training coordinator, once they achieve the coursework required to be deployable they will be turned over to their discipline manager.
